In 2014, these custom 3D-printed ice cubes had everyone speechless. Created with laser technology by the Japanese agency @TBWAHakuhodo for a @SuntoryWhisky campaign, these mini ice sculptures became true masterpieces of precision and craftsmanship. Each ice block, almost six inches in size, was hand-carved and then worked with a laser cut in a -19°C studio. The process required hours of work and precision to create the details of the sculptures: each “cube” took between 1 and 6 hours to be created and some of the more complex designs required even the combination of different ice blocks. These “cubes” not only have a wow effect and deep meaning but they’re also perfectly tailored to the shape of the glass keeping the whiskey at the right temperature without diluting it too quickly.
